The training, time and dedication that OMSSU Members put into developing a suitable Unit Horse takes a special commitment. Each Unit Horse must pass certifications and
attend yearly trainings to meet our requirements.
We create well rounded, confident, respectful, level-headed horses who are able to adapt to their environment to best serve communities. Outside of Basic Training, our horses show their versatility by expanding their training to one or more of our specialty services such as; Mounted
Search and Rescue (MSAR)/Air Scent Tracking, Ambassador Patrol and/or Canadian Cavalry.
OMSSU recognizes the commitment and work ethic from both Unit Member and Unit Horse that is required to achieve such a high level of greatness.
